Cup Of Tea Reviews

We continue our viewing of the Final Destination franchise for this year's spooky month with Final Destination 2.

The film follows the same formula as the first film. A premonition helps one person evade a disaster and save several others from death. However, changing deaths plan doesn't mean surviving. Death slowly stalks the survivors and kills them off one by one.

We enjoyed the first film for it's surprise and fun spooky qualities. Does the second one take the right lessons from the success of the first film? Does this film create a satisfying franchise? Does it create satisfying rules for death? Does it work as a piece of thrilling filmmaking?

This year for Halloween month we're continuing with a horror series that we started watching a year ago. Final Destination is the horror franchise that follows people trying to escape the inevitability of death. Featuring wild horror scenario setups and gruesome deaths.

Is this franchise going to be our cup of tea?

Check out this rerelease of our review from last year for the first film in the series. Be on the look out for our review of the sequel coming soon.

Every once in a while we watch a good movie. Is Midnight Run such an occasion?

Midnight Run is a 1988 action, comedy, drama, road film. A blend of genres that mixed up is usually a recipe for disaster. Is this the one movie that can buck the trend?

This week we return with a lesser known Brian De Palma film. After watching it, it might deserve its lesser known status.

Starring Danny De Vito and Joe Piscopo as the two worst mobsters of all time. When they get in deep trouble with their boss they conceive a series of harebrained schemes to make things right.

This movie is part cartoon, part serious mob movie. That blend is the uneven problem that torpedoes this movie for us, but check out our review to find out more.

As fans of the so bad its good 1997 original, we were skeptical of this remake starring Paul Rudd and Jack Black.

Were they just here to make fun of the original? Was this just a tired retread? Did they give away all the best parts in the trailer?

We got our answers to these questions. Check out our review to find out too.

We dive into the world of Chuck Norris with one of his earliest hits from Canon Films.

Can this hunk of wood deliver a worthwhile film? Can this glorified stuntman act? Does the action distract from the idiotic plot? Is this movie worth your time? Check out our review to find out.

In honor of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey being released, we decided to revisit a film of his from almost ten years ago. Dunkirk is visceral experience that seeks to put the audience in the point of view of someone who experienced this historical event.

But does it work as a movie? Does it work as a story? Is. there anything to it beyond the visceral Nolan experience? Check out our review to find out.

Looking for one of the most quintessentially American movies of all time?

Looking for one of the best action movies ever made?

Looking for a subversive commentary on American culture and corporate greed?

We've got all three in one movie package.

It's Robocop from 1987. Directed with maximalist aesthetic by Paul Verhoeven. Does it live up to its reputation as a classic piece of pop culture? Find out in our review.

Three comedy legends team up for an absurdist take on the western genre.

Does it deserve its place in the comedy pantheon? Is it's whacky and off the wall sense of humor enough to balance out its tonal juxtaposition?

Check out our review to find out if this very silly movie is your cup of tea.

We're big Jason Statham fans, but does this recent action thriller work for us? When a former super soldier turned construction worker discovers his friends' daughter has been kidnapped, he must return to his old super soldier ways to rescue her from evil Russian mobsters. Is this a good Statham movie? Is it a good action movie? Will the baffling production design decisions distract you? Is the moon really that big? Check out our review to find out.
