The Old Guard (2020)

Charlize Theron anchors this Netflix sci-fi/fantasy action movie with some excellent stunt work and solid acting. With a time tested plot and some credible action - this film checked all the boxes and left our hosts looking forward to a sequel! 

Hawk The Slayer (1980)

It isn't high cinema, but this 1980 British sword and sorcery adventure film hit some high notes for our hosts this week. Strong performances by Jack Palance combined with some low-budget charm added up to a movie that deserves a remake. 

Masters of the Universe (1987)

There seems to be limitless options in the web of questionable 80's movies as our hosts put grapple with Masters of the Universe (1987) this week. Starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor - this memorable film even made it onto Honest Trailers which isn't always a good sign.

Continuing the foray into big budget productions, our hosts tackle Waterworld (1995) this week! With an inflation-adjusted budget of more than $300,000,000 - this visual spectacle stands as one of the last practical effect films before the transition to CGI began in earnest.

Dazzling CGI can't cover for a weak plot that hits all the pitfalls that lurk for book adaptations. With a large budget and one of the worst rates-of-return in recent movie memory, this week our hosts dive into what exactly went wrong with Mortal Engines.
